The Milano Repubblica train station is an important hub of the Milan public transport network . It represents an important transfer point between the S-Bahn and the U-Bahn . The entire station system is located underground.
history
In 1981, construction work began on the two underground rapid transit lines, the M3 underground line and the main S-Bahn line , the so-called “ Passante ” , under the Piazza della Repubblica .
The subway line opened on May 3, 1990.
The S-Bahn station (operationally only one stopping point) was put into operation on December 21, 1997 after a long and difficult construction period.
