The Milano Rogoredo station is a long-distance and regional train station in the southeast of the Italian metropolis of Milan . history

The station was opened in the 1860s. It lies at the point of separation of the Milan – Bologna (opened 1861) and Milan – Pavia (opened 1862) railway lines. The station was near the village of Rogoredo and originally had only two tracks. In 1908 a freight yard was also built.

At the end of the 1980s, planning began to modernize the station, and work began in the 1990s. B. the roofing of the platforms. A construction freeze was imposed in 1995 because of the massive budget overruns. The renovation continued in 1999. Four new platforms were built to connect the Passante underground cross-city line and the high-speed line from Milan to Bologna . In 2008, the passer-by began operating along its entire length to Porta Garibaldi station, and the importance of the station increased as a result of the extension of the Milan S-Bahn lines S1 and S2 to Lodi and Mariano Comense . Since the station played an increasingly important role in long-distance traffic, it overtook Lambrate station as the third most important station in the city.
