Wegerhof is a village in the municipality of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place is in the south of the city of Wipperfürth on the watershed between Wupper and Agger . To the east of the Wegerhof over the springs Poshofer Bach in the Gaulbach opens Poshofer Delle . Neighboring places are Seidenfaden , Sassenbach , Poshof and Klespe .

Politically, Wegerhof is represented in the council of the city of Wipperfürth by the direct candidate from electoral district 7.2 (072) south-eastern urban area.

history

In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time under the name "Via" in an income and rights list of the Cologne Apostelstifts. The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows two farms and names them "Wegerhof" . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows three separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard under the name Wegerhof. From the topographic maps of the ( Prussian New Admission ) from 1894 to 1896, another homestead is recorded south of Wegerhof. It is labeled "zu Wegerhof" . In 1955 this place name of the still existing farmstead is shown for the last time in the topographic maps.

A wayside cross in the local area dates from 1861 . A memorial cross made of concrete, which replaced a wooden cross from 1940 after its deterioration in the same place, is also in Wegerhof.
