The Rohrnbach Station is an operating agency of the railway line Passau-Freyung . The breakpoint is in the Lower Bavarian parish village of Röhrnbach in the Freyung-Grafenau district and is operated by the Ilz Valley Railway.
history
The system was built in 1890 on the Passau – Freyung line (this is also known as the Ilz Valley Railway ) and went into operation on December 6, 1890, when the section between Röhrnbach and Passau was opened. The first train between Passau and Freyung finally left on October 15, 1892.
In 1982 the regular passenger traffic was stopped. On July 16, 2011, rail traffic was resumed as part of the Danube-Moldau leisure traffic project on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in the summer half-year and on special trips all year round. A condensed timetable with six pairs of trains per day has been made possible since 2014.
Buildings and systems
The station and ancillary buildings built in 1890 are quarry stone buildings , with the single-storey main building topped off with a crooked roof with a knee stick. The arched window and door openings are set in red brick . The service room with goods hall adjoining to the north is a ground floor hipped roof building, partly boarded up. The outbuilding is a single-storey hipped roof building with a knee stick. The facility is registered under the number D-2-72-141-64 as a listed property in the list of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
