The Siebenbrunn station was a separation station in the district Siebenbrunn the town Markneukirchen in Saxony , who was demoted to the stop since 1976th

history

Surname

In its history, the station has had three different station names, in detail these were:

  • until September 19, 1909: Markneukirchen
  • until May 14, 1935: Markneukirchen-Siebenbrunn
  • since May 15, 1935: Siebenbrunn

business

Since Markneukirchen invested 150,000 marks in the Chemnitz-Aue-Adorfer Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft , the shorter route through the Ebersbachtal was not chosen for the route from Chemnitz via Aue to Adorf , but the longer one through the Ebersbachtal. The latter variant led much closer to Markneukirchen and the city received a train station about 3 km away from the city center. The station was opened together with the railway line in 1875, the station was named Markneukirchen because of the financial participation of Markneukirchen , although it was in the corridor of the community of Siebenbrunn. Just three years after the opening, a weighbridge was installed and the goods shed was extended. In 1881 this was destroyed by a storm and replaced with a new building. In 1909 a short roof was built around the station building.

With the opening of the line to Markneukirchen , the station was extensively expanded in 1909 and renamed Markneukirchen-Siebenbrunn to avoid confusion with the new Markneukirchen station. The line to Adorf (Vogtl) train station was also expanded to two tracks.

The line towards Markneukirchen, which was extended in 1911 to Erlbach, was closed in 1975. In 1976 the station was converted into a stopping point with a junction, and since the late 1990s only the main track has remained. On December 8, 2012, the scheduled local rail passenger transport on the route was canceled by the responsible Vogtland transport association . Since then there has been no regular train service in Siebenbrunn. The systems initially remained in place and were part of the operational infrastructure. The platform has now been dismantled so that passengers can no longer get on and off there.
