history
Siebenbrunn was mentioned in 1378 under the name "Sybinbrun", "Sybinbrunne". Until the 19th century, the place was divided among various manors. The settlement “Sträßel” (also known as “street houses”) in the south-western corridor has been mentioned since 1816. Siebenbrunn belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg until 1856 , to the Adorf court office after 1856 and to the Oelsnitz administration from 1875 .
With the opening of the railway line from Chemnitz via Aue to Adorf , Siebenbrunn received a railway connection in 1875. The Siebenbrunn station was initially named for the neighboring town of Markneukirchen. The station was renamed Markneukirchen-Siebenbrunn in 1909 with the opening of the railway line to Markneukirchen ( extended to Erlbach in 1911 ) in order to avoid confusion with the new Markneukirchen station. Since 1935 the station has been called Siebenbrunn .
On July 1, 1950, Siebenbrunn was incorporated into Markneukirchen . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Siebenbrunn became a district of Markneukirchen in July 1952 and became part of the Klingenthal district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Klingenthal in 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996.
The Siebenbrunn station lost its importance as a railway junction in 1975 when the railway line to Erlbach via Markneukirchen was closed. On December 8, 2012, the scheduled local rail passenger transport on the route between Zwotental and Adorf (Vogtl) was canceled by the responsible Vogtland transport association . Since then there has been no regular train service in Siebenbrunn.
