history
Hetzschen is mentioned around 1578 as "Hätzschen". The place in the corridor of Erlbach counted four cottagers at that time . The manorial rule over the place was divided between the manors Wohlhausen and Erlbach upper part. In 1834 the place had six houses and 36 residents. The population rose in the course of the 19th century to 83 in 1871 and 108 in 1890.
As part of the municipality of Erlbach, Hetzschen belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg until 1856 , to the Markneukirchen court office after 1856 and to the Oelsnitz administration from 1875 . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Hetzschen came as part of Erlbach in 1952 to the Klingenthal district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued in 1990 as the Saxon district of Klingenthal and was added to the Vogtlandkreis in 1996.
With the incorporation of the Erlbach community into the town of Markneukirchen, Hetzschen became a part of Markneukirchen on January 1, 2014.
