The Strassberg (Harz) Station is a landmarked station at the Selketalbahn in the village Straßberg of city Harzgerode in resin in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located at the northwest end of the village at the address Am Lindenberg 20 in the Lindenberg district that belongs to Straßberg . The Selke flows to the south and the Selketalstieg runs along to the north .

Architecture and history

The station was put into operation on July 1, 1890 when the railway line from Silberhütte to Güntersberge was put into service. Other details give the time around 1900. Initially the name was Lindenberg station , corresponding to the location of the station in the village of Lindenberg, which at that time did not belong to Straßberg. The station had overtaking and loading tracks. In addition, a goods shed and loading docks were built. The station building was created as a type building with a symmetrical facade. After the end of the Second World War , the railway line between Lindenberg and Stiege was dismantled as a reparation payment to the Soviet Union .
