The Belluno – Calalzo railway is an Italian railway in the Veneto region . It is standard gauge, not electrified and has a length of around 44 km.

history

The section from Belluno to Longarone was inaugurated on August 8, 1912. The Longarone- Perarolo di Cadore section followed on June 5, 1913 . The last section from Perarolo di Cadore to Calalzo di Cadore was opened on May 18, 1914. Until 1964 there was a train connection in Calalzo di Cadore with the Dolomitenbahn to Cortina d'Ampezzo and on to Toblach .

Operation today

In the area of ​​passenger transport, only regional trains operated by Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), which is also the operator of the route, run on the route . Most trains continue to Padua , some even to Venice . As of 2015, multiple units of the FS ALn 668 series are in operation .
