The Rudoltice v Čechách – Lanškroun railway is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic that was originally built and operated by the priv. Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company (StEG) as the local line Rudelsdorf – Landskron. It runs from Rudoltice v Čechách ( Rudelsdorf ) to Lanškroun ( Landskron ).

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

Rudelsdorf station (before 1919)

The StEG received the concession for the local line Rudelsdorf – Landskron on January 15, 1884 together with the Brno – Tischnowitz line . Part of the concession was the obligation to “ complete the routes and hand them over to public transport ” by December 31, 1884 . The license was issued until December 31, 1965. The line was opened on June 1, 1885. The StEG carried out the operation itself.

On January 1st, 1908, the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) took over the management. With the nationalization of the StEG on October 15, 1909, the infrastructure came to the kkStB. In 1912 the timetable of the local railway showed eight mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains. They needed 13 minutes for the four-kilometer route.

Lanškroun Railway Station (2010)

After the First World War, the line came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). From 1928, modern motor trains were used in passenger train traffic . The winter timetable of 1937/38 recorded nine pairs of 3rd class passenger trains each day, all of which ran as motorized trains. The journey time was only eight minutes.

After the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany in autumn 1938, the line came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Breslau . In the Reich course book , the connection was now included as course book route 154v Rudelsdorf – Landskron . After the end of the Second World War , the route was completely returned to the ČSD.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

In 2012 timetable, the route was a day in the approximate Einstundentakt served by passenger trains, mostly to and from Česká Třebová were bound by. Vehicles of the 814 and 841 series are used . The operating concept in the 2015 annual timetable is almost unchanged from that of 2012.
