The Bahonu is an East Timorese river in the Maubara administrative office ( Liquiçá municipality ). Like most of the smaller rivers in North Timor , the Marae falls dry outside of the rainy season.

The Bahonu rises in Grbezgebiet between the Sucos Maubaralissa and Vaviquinia . It follows the border to the north until it finally flows into the Sawu Sea east of the town of Maubara . Smaller tributaries keep coming back to the river.
