Bakkafjörður

Bakkafjörður is a village in northern Iceland .

The village is located on the east coast of the fjord of the same name on the Digranes peninsula. Bakkafjörður can be reached via the 4.4 km long harbor path in Bakkafjörður, road 91, from Norðausturvegur , road 85. The name of the street comes from the new harbor, which was laid out more sheltered south of the town. Bakkafjörður Airport is also located there . There is a fish factory in the village, but no more shop. The nearest shops are in Vopnafjörður , 34 km away, and Þórshöfn is even 44 km away.
