The Balbalasang Balbalan National Park is located in the Cordillera Central of the Philippine Cordillera on the island of Luzon . It belongs to the Cordillera administrative region . The Balbalasang-Balbalan National Park was established on December 9, 1974 by presidential decree 1357 and designated as a biosphere reserve in the NIPAS law .

It extends over an area of ​​3,923 hectares at an altitude band of 700 to 2,456 meters, Mount Sapocoy in the center of the park. The protected area of ​​the Balbalasang-Balbalan National Park lies between two mountain ranges that are divided by the valley of the Saltan River. The terrain is characterized by the steep mountain slopes with high cliffs and some rock formations.

Many endemic animal and plant species such as the giant bark rat Phloeomys pallidus or the almost unknown frog species Kaloula baleata kalingenses and Kaloula rigida as well as the butterflies Papilio benguetanus and Papilio chikae are at home here.
