The Mount Data National Park is located on the island of Luzon , Philippines . It was established in 1936 on an area of ​​33.52 km² on the border of the provinces of Mountain Province , Ifugao and Benguet . It was named after the most important mountain, Mount Data . The national park lies along the highest pass road in the Philippines, the Halsema Highway .

The sources of the three important rivers Agno , Abra and the Rio Chico lie in the area of ​​the national park . The area of ​​the national park is described as partially forested, larger parts of the national park are used for the cultivation of manioc ( Manihot esculenta ). He had a great role in the study of the Philippine mammal fauna since 1947. The Luzon wide-toothed rat ( Abditomys latidens ) and the Luzon tree rat Carpomys melanurus were discovered in the area of ​​the national park and first described.
