Baldur Pauß

Baldur Pauß (born August 10, 1935 in Königsdorf , Burgenland , † April 4, 2019 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian musician and composer .

Life

Baldur Pauß enjoyed a musical education in the subjects violin, piano, trumpet as well as composition and conducting, first at the Conservatory in Graz and then at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (violin concert with Theodor Müller, conducting with Bernhard Paumgartner ). Pauß was a member of the Camerata Academica Salzburg in 1958/59 and was the first section leader of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra from 1959 to 1987 . In 1988 he founded the Johann Strauss Orchestra Salzburg and since then has worked exclusively as a composer and conductor.
