Baldwin de Redvers, 7th Earl of Devon
Baldwin de Redvers, 7th Earl of Devon ( January 1, 1236 , † 1262 before September 13 in France) was an English nobleman in the 13th century. He was the son of Baldwin de Redvers, 6th Earl of Devon and Amicia de Clare. He was Earl of Devon and Lord of the Isle of Wight from 1245.
On January 29, 1256 or 1257, he took the feudal oath . In 1257 he married Margaret of Savoy, the daughter of Count Thomas II of Savoy and Johanna of Flanders . Baldwin's marriage to Peter of Savoy had been arranged in 1252 , Earl of Richmond since 1241 (and Count of Savoy from 1263), with Peter being the wife of the English Queen Eleanor , wife of Henry III. and his own niece, and he chose his niece Margarete.
The relatives that Baldwin received through this marriage included: a .:
- The Peters brothers:
- Boniface of Savoy , Archbishop of Canterbury and Primate of England 1241–1270,
- Philip of Savoy , Archbishop of Lyon and Primate of France 1246–1267,
- Peter's nieces:

With Baldwin's young death, the Redvers family died out in the male line. The county of Devon and the Isle of Wight passed to his sister Isabel . Baldwin de Redvers, who died in France at the age of 26 while accompanying the king, was buried in the family tomb in Breamore Priory . His widow married Sir Robert Aguillon of Watton , Hertfordshire († February 15, 1285/86) in 1269 . She died shortly before May 14, 1292. The couple had a son, John, who died as a child.

Individual evidence
- ↑ According to Schwennicke, Europäische Stammtafeln Volume II (1984), Plate 190, the wife's name was Avita, was Peters' youngest sister, the marriage was already concluded in 1237 (!) And Baldwin died on November 13, 1261; However, this classification does not fit into the chronology, since Avita's next elder sister Margarete (⚭ 1218 Count Hartmann IV. von Kyburg) was born in 1212.
