Balingasag ( Filipino : Bayan ng Balingasag ) is a Filipino municipality in the Misamis Oriental Province , Administrative Region X, Northern Mindanao. It has 67,059 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 30 barangays . It is classified as a second income class community in the Philippines and as urbanized .
Balingasag is located on the coast of the Mindanao Sea , approx. 53 km north of Cagayan de Oro and can be reached via the coastal road. Their neighboring communities are Lagonglong in the north, Claveria in the east, and Jasaan in the south.
Parts of the Mount Balatukan Range Natural Park are within the municipality's territory.
