Initao ( Filipino : Bayan ng Initao ) is a Filipino township in the Misamis Oriental Province , Administrative Region X, Northern Mindanao. It has 32,370 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 16 barangays . It is classified as a third income class community in the Philippines and as urbanized .
Initao is located on the coast of the Mindanao Sea , approx. 54 km west of Cagayan de Oro and can be reached via the coastal road. Their neighboring communities are Libertad in the north, Alubijid in the east, Naawan in the south.
There is an External Study Center at Bukidnon State University in the community . Parts of the Initao-Libertad Protected Landscape / Seascape are on the territory of the municipality.
