The ball Peak is a 1,700 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises at the head of the Loftus Glacier at a distance of 1.1 km southwest of Mount McLennan in the vicinity of Mount Hall and Harris Peak .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named him in 1998 after the New Zealand mountaineer Gary Ball (1953-1993), who worked from 1976 to 1977 as a survival coach at Scott Base and for GANOVEX I (1979-1980).
