Balser Puorger

Balser Puorger (born July 20, 1864 in Seraplana , † September 25, 1943 in Kilchberg ZH ) was a Swiss teacher and writer .

Life

Balser Puorger grew up in Seraplana near Ramosch . As a teacher he held positions in Vnà , Sent GR and Mesocco , from 1890 to 1896 at the Swiss school in Bergamo . After studying in Zurich and Lausanne, he acquired a patent as a secondary school teacher in 1896. From 1896 to 1936 he worked as a history teacher at the canton school and at the teachers' college in Chur .

Puorger was the author of realistic stories which he settled in the Engadine of the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as in Italy and France as the classic emigration countries of the Engadin people at the time. He published his texts in organs such as Chalender Ladin , Annalas da la Societad Retorumantscha (Yearbook of the Rhaeto-Romanic Society) and others. He wrote primarily in Vallader , but also in German and Italian.

The linguists Mevina Puorger Pestalozzi and Dumenic Andryes published the work written by Puorger between 1910 and 1939 under the title La glieud da Schilana .
