Baptist Hörbst
Baptist Hörbst (born December 1, 1850 in Zurich ; † October 12, 1927 in Affoltern am Albis ) was a Swiss sculptor .
Live and act
Baptist Hörbst (Hoerbst), son of plasterer and plasterer Georg Hörbst, traveled with his father to Germany , Belgium and France after school . 1866–1869 he completed an apprenticeship as a sculptor with Johann C. Dielmann in Frankfurt am Main . 1871–1873 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .
In 1873 Hörbst traveled to Italy via Vienna . In Rome he worked in the studio of his compatriot Ferdinand Schlöth until his return to Switzerland in 1874. In 1876 he returned to Switzerland and took over his father's business. From 1880 he only worked as a sculptor.
