Barbara Brüning

Barbara Brüning (born August 29, 1951 in Leipzig ) is a German SPD politician and former member of the Hamburg Parliament ; Professor at the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Educational Science at the University of Hamburg .

Life

Barbara Brüning graduated from high school in Leipzig in 1970 . She then studied philosophy , Slavic studies and educational science in Hamburg from 1977 to 1982 . In 1985 he received his doctorate and in 1998 his habilitation . Today she works as a professor at the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Educational Science at the University of Hamburg and as an author of non-fiction and school books, in particular on philosophy and philosophy didactics. She is a member of the German Teachers Association .

politics

In 1990 she joined the SPD. From 1997 to 2008 she was a member of the Hamburg Parliament. The main focus of her parliamentary work was European and educational policy (especially universities). Brüning represented the SPD in the European Committee, School Committee and Science Committee. She was a member of the addition Inquiry Commission "school development". She was the specialist spokesperson for her group for science and research .
