Barbara Juen (* 1960 ) is an Austrian psychologist , a renowned specialist in the field of crisis intervention in major disaster events and a university professor in Innsbruck .

Professional background

The psychologist Barbara Juen received her doctorate in 1989 on the subject of moral development and language acquisition . From 1988 to 1991 she was the head of a youth counseling center in Innsbruck . From 1992 she worked in the Department of Psychology at the University of Innsbruck. In 1993 she acquired the status of clinical psychologist .

She completed her habilitation in 2001 with a thesis on conflict regulation in early mother-child interactions .

Services

Juen heads the psychotraumatology and emergency psychology working group at Innsbruck University . She is co-founder of the first crisis intervention team of the Austrian Red Cross and developed the corresponding curriculum . Since 2004 she has also been the head of psychological care for the Red Cross. She has been training emergency psychologists since 2000. Since 2002 she has been working as a consultant for psychotraumatological questions, both case-related and for clinics and research. In 2003 she became a university professor in Innsbruck.

She has co-organized numerous specialist conferences. From 1995 to 2010 she lectured over 80 times at relevant conferences and congresses in Europe.
