Barbara Marianowska

Barbara Marianowska (born May 29, 1947 in Diddington in Cambridgeshire , Great Britain ; † February 9, 2012 in Tarnów ) was a Polish politician and from 2001 to 2011 a member of the Sejm in the IV., V. and VI . Electoral term.

Life

In 1976 she finished her studies at the Faculty of Industrial Economics of the Cracow University of Economics .

From 1966 to 1983 she worked as an accountant and economist in, among others, a Krakow architecture firm and at the Cracow Mining and Metallurgy Academy . From 1983 to 1992 she was the chief inspector of the Krakow Tax Office . From 1992 to 1994 she worked as a finance commissioner in the financial control office in Kraków. From 1994 to 2001 she was in the Najwyższa Izba Kontroli (Supreme Audit Office - NIK) as an auditor and specialist in state control in the NIK branch in Cracow.

Since 2002 she was a member of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS) and sat on the Presidium of the PiS regional board of Małopolska (Lesser Poland). She has been a member of the Solidarność trade union since 1980, from 1989 to 1991 she was a member of the union's works committee at the Cracow Tax Office and from 1992 to 1994 she headed the union at the Cracow Financial Control Office. Since 1998 she has been a member of the Association of Accountants in Poland, since 2000 she has been a member of the National Chamber of Accountants.

In the parliamentary elections in 2001 and 2005 , she was elected to the Sejm from the list of the PiS for the constituency of Tarnów. In the 2007 Sejm elections , she was elected for the third time as a member of parliament with 21,654 votes. She was then a member of the Sejm Commission for Internal Affairs. In the 2011 elections her candidacy was unsuccessful.
