Barbara Parkins (born May 22, 1942 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Barbara Parkins came to Los Angeles with her mother at the age of 16 , where she studied acting, dance and ballet .

Parkins made her film debut in 1961 in the low-budget film 20,000 Eyes . Parkins then starred in several television series , with her role as Betty Anderson in the series Peyton Place helped her breakthrough. In 1964 produced until 1969 series she was the only female lead that has permanently participated and 1966 she was nominated for the Emmy - Television Award nomination for best actress in a series, but was defeated by Barbara Stanwyck for her role in The Big Valley . She achieved another success with her impersonation of Anne Welles in the 1967 film The Valley of the Puppets .

In the late 1960s, Parkins moved to London for a few years , where she starred in films such as The Rats from Amsterdam (1970) and Howler the Devil (1976).

In the 1960s and 1970s, Barbara Parkins posed several times for Playboy , in the US edition of which she could be seen in May 1967, February 1970 and May 1976.
