Barbara Vierneisel-Schlörb

Barbara Vierneisel-Schlörb , also Barbara Schlörb (born November 13, 1931 , † August 3, 2009 ) was a German classical archaeologist and translator of modern Greek literature .

Schlörb received his doctorate in 1960 at the University of Frankfurt am Main with a dissertation on the generation of sculptors according to Phidias and Timotheos . She was an employee of the German Archaeological Institute . Her scientific focus was Greek sculpture. In addition, she translated works by the modern Greek poet Odysseas Elytis into German.

She was married to the classical archaeologist Klaus Vierneisel .
