Barbara Thöny

Barbara Thöny (born December 17, 1975 in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). She has been a member of the Salzburg state parliament since June 2018 .

Life

Barbara Thöny attended the polytechnic course there after primary and secondary school in Saalfelden . She then completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk in Zell am See . In 2010 she passed the university entrance qualification examination, in 2012 she completed the university course in social management at the University of Salzburg as a Master of Business Administration .

From 1995 to 2003 she was employed in various companies in Zell am See and Saalfelden. She then worked as a social worker at the Association Entry Into Professional Life until 2007 and as a regional manager at Laube Sozialpsychiatrische Veranstaltungen GmbH until 2013 . In 2014/15 she headed the children's and youth center in Saalfelden, from 2014 to 2018 she was a social worker in the afternoon care at the New Middle School in Saalfelden and from 2015 to 2017 at the outpatient psychorehabilitation in Pinzgau .

She has been a member of the municipal council in Saalfelden since 2014. On 13 June 2018 she was in the inaugural parliament session of the 16th legislative term as a Member of the Salzburg Parliament sworn in .

After Walter Bacher's departure from the National Council after the National Council election in 2019 , he will also hand over his function as district party chairman of the SPÖ Pinzgau to Barbara Thöny.
