Barbro Lindgren (2014)

Barbro Lindgren-Enskog (born March 18, 1937 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish children's author who also writes books for adult readers. She is not related to Astrid Lindgren .

Life

Barbro Lindgren worked in an institution for disabled children, she has been writing since 1965. She graduated from art school (1958) and illustrated some of her books herself, but has also worked with some excellent illustrators. Her incomparable style has had a major impact on contemporary Swedish children's and youth literature. Located somewhere between realism and surrealism, he is humorous and imaginative and her books deal with important questions for children that are taken seriously and treated in a child-friendly manner.
