Barcode was a Danish hardcore band from Aarhus . It was the band of guitarist Jacob Bredahl, who was also the singer of Hatesphere from 1997 to 2007 .

history

The band was founded in Denmark in 1995 and released their first demo a year later . The debut album Hard Jet Super Flash was released in 1997 and following the recordings for the second work Beerserk , Barcode went on a European tour with Madball .

While the band played "at least official old school hardcore of the earthy sort" on the first two albums, the Ox-Fanzine attested the third, simply Hardcore titled work an "enormous quality class", which Pro-Pain with a "similar fat beast [ ...] would never get it back ”.

Then came the change to Nuclear Blast , where the fourth album Showdown was released.

The so far last album Ahead of the Game was released in December 2006 on the Italian label Scarlet Records. Tue Madsen took care of the production, and Lou Koller from Sick of It All was the guest singer on one piece.

The music on the second work, which was released in 1999, was called "New York Hardcore with a strong dash of street punk and English Oi!" By the Ox fanzine. and a little bit of metal ”. On the fifth and so far last album, New-Core.de cited Sick of It All, Terror , Ryker’s , Strife or Hatebreed as references, whose "best moments" were linked and linked with a "certain own note". The reviewer from Metal.de was less euphoric and recognized a “solid hardcore album with a rocky undertone and a good shouter”.
