The Barrett Bluff is a 350 m high and bulky cliff in the convoy Range of East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises from the Gentle Valley and is bounded to the south by the ice masses of the flight deck firn field . It consists of sandstone from the so-called Beacon Supergroup with a dolerite dome .
It is named after the New Zealand geologist Peter John Barrett (* 1940), who was involved in several US and New Zealand campaigns in Antarctica .
