João Gabriel Silva Ferreira or short Barroca (* 29. July 1986 in Mealhada ) is a Portuguese football - goalkeeper , who is currently in Genève Servette FC plays.

Career

Barroca was trained at the Académica de Coimbra . After several positions in the Portuguese leagues, he moved to the traditional Swiss club Servette FC , where he was involved in a duel for the goalkeeping post with David González . But was able to prevail after being promoted to the top Swiss league. In the 2013/14 season , the duel was expanded to a three-way fight, where the third goalkeeper Roland Müller prevailed. Barroca lost his regular place and was then even loaned to FC Lausanne-Sport , where he was supposed to replace the injured goalkeeper Kevin Fickentscher . Barroca could not prevent the relegation of Lausanne to the Challenge League despite good performances .

Barroca returned to Servette FC for the 2014/15 season . Where he was still number 2 behind Roland Müller.

In 2011 Barroca rose to the Super League with Servette FC Genève .
