Barry Award : Best Novel
Winner of the Barry Award in the category Best Novel ( Best Novel ), which since 1997 the best in the previous year in the United States or Canada works published by an author from the crime novel or mystery distinguished genre of which the hardcover was published format (as opposed for the Best Paperback Novel category ). Since 2000, this category has been reserved for US and Canadian authors, while its British counterparts have a separate category . The most successful in this category were the Americans Michael Connelly (1998 and 2003), Dennis Lehane (1999 and 2002) and Laura Lippman (2004 and 2008), who each won the award twice.
