Barthold Detharding
Barthold Detharding (born February 7, 1535 in Herford , † 1577 in Rostock ) was a German Lutheran theologian and pastor.
Life
Barthold Detharding was a son of the Herford pastor Jodocus Detharding and he became the progenitor of the family of scholars Detharding in Mecklenburg and Pomerania. From the winter semester of 1557 he studied theology at the University of Rostock . From 1560 he was second preacher at the Marienkirche Rostock. In 1561 he received his doctorate from the Rostock University as a bachelor of theology. From 1564 he also held the office of preacher at the monastery of the Holy Cross in Rostock.
Barthold Detharding was married to Anna Gerdes, daughter of Marquard Gerdes and sister of the Rostock councilor of the same name. He was the father of the physician Michael Detharding (1565-1625).
