Bartholomäus Church (Vellberg-Großaltdorf)
The Protestant Bartholomäuskirche in Vellberg - Großaltdorf is a historical sacred building and the church of the Großaltdorf parish.
The now partially plastered church tower, formerly the choir tower , dates from the Romanesque period . In the 18th century the tower was given a curved roof. In 1835 the new nave was built as a transverse hall to the old church tower.
The furnishings included an old altar painting, which depicted Jesus' Last Supper , as well as silver Communion vessels with inscriptions from 1650. A wooden epitaph from 1657 with a painted votive portrait is dedicated to the memory of a pastor Werner. The stone, arched wall tabernacle dates from the late Gothic period .
In the church tower there is a large bell from the 17th century and a small one from 1732.
