description

The free-standing building is located just under a kilometer northwest of Twynholm, north of the A75 . Although stylistic details suggest that the classicist villa should be built in the 1820s, Barwhinnock House dates from 1844. The south-facing front of the two-story building is symmetrical and three axes wide. The masonry is made of quarry stone that was cut into blocks. On the other hand, embossed granite was used on the surrounding cornice .

The entrance area on the slightly protruding central projection is designed with Tuscan columns and cornices . Recessed pilasters flank the two-winged entrance portal with a final window . In addition, small-scale Venetian windows , the posts of which are worked as columns, were used. Segmentbögig out kicking Ausluchten with elongated windows and final rounded hipped roofs flank the buttress. The risalit is decorated with rusticated corner stones , the windows with bezels in color. In contrast to the front, the masonry on the back of the building is made of quarry stone. In the center, a pointed arch portal leads into the interior. As on the front, the muntin windows are usually twelve-part.
