Sebastiaan "Bas" van den Brink (born September 11, 1982 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Van den Brink played at youth level in Huizen for HSV De Zuidvogels before moving to the youth department of FC Utrecht . In 2003 he gave his competitive debut for the professional team Utrecht in the 3-1 defeat for the Johan-Cruyff-Schaal against PSV Eindhoven and came to 14 appearances in the Eredivisie in the further course of the season . After he was no longer considered in the series of the 2004/05 season at Utrecht, he continued his career in the second highest Dutch division at FC Emmen from January 2005 , and in 2007 he moved to league rivals FC Omniworld .

In 2009 he received an offer from the Australian A-League from the newly created expansion team Gold Coast United , which he finally accepted.

After two convincing seasons for Gold Coast, he moved to South Korea in the spring of 2011 to join the financially strong K-League at Busan I'Park , but his stint there was short-lived and his contract was terminated in April 2011. Van den Brink then returned to the A-League and signed a contract with Perth Glory . In January 2013 he prematurely terminated his contract with Perth to move to the Indian first division club Churchill Brothers SC , but a contract did not materialize. Van den Brink then returned to the Netherlands and played the first half of the 2013/14 season for third division club VV IJsselmeervogels from Spakenburg .
