Basel City Marathon

The Basel City Marathon was a marathon run in Basel that took place on August 28, 2005 and September 3, 2006. The route led through downtown Basel and the surrounding communities of Allschwil , Riehen , Birsfelden , Muttenz . Bands played in various places. Several thousand spectators stood along the route between the start ( fair ) and the finish ( St. Jakob ). At the second event, in addition to the marathon, a competition over half the distance was held.

On February 18, 2007 it was announced that the Basel City Marathon association is illiquid and the event will definitely no longer take place.
