Basile Kfoury
Basile (Basil) Kfoury (* 1794 in Khonchara , Lebanon ; † April 5, 1859 ) was bishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Alexandria in Egypt . He was the first of Patriarch Maximos III. Michel Mazloum appointed Bishop of the Archeparchy of Alexandria.
Life
Basile Kfoury was named Bishop of Alexandria in 1837. Maximus III Michael Mazloum and the co-consecrators Théodore Abou-Karim ( titular bishop of Alia and Apostolic Vicar of the Coptic Catholic Church of Alexandria) and Giuiseppe Angelo di Fazio OFM (titular Bishop of Tipasa in Mauretania and Apostolic Vicar of Aleppo in Syria ) consecrated him bishop. He was co-consecrator of Athanase Khouzan (titular bishop of Maronea and apostolic vicar of the Coptic Church of Alexandria). His successor was Joannitius Massamiri .
