The Basilica of St. Mary (Church of the Visitation of Mary) in the Slovenian village of Petrovče near the city of Celje is a church raised to the rank of minor basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1984 , which is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Maribor .

The church was built in the Gothic style at the end of the 14th century , but has been rebuilt several times so that it is presented in baroque style today . It owes its current classicist interior to the painting by Jakob Brollo in 1875. The altar of St. John Nepomuk in the third left side chapel is the oldest wooden Renaissance altar in the country. The reason for the rich furnishings of the church lies in the history of pilgrimage. The room-defining baroque high altar dates from 1760. The Dominicans have been administering the parish and the church since 1965 .
