Bat People is an American horror film from 1974 . The film was also distributed in the US under the alternative title It Lives by Night . In the Internet Movie Database , The Bat People is listed in the list of the 100 films with the worst rating (as of April 2015). In 1999 the film was re-edited by the American series Mystery Science Theater 3000 .

Dr. John Beck is bitten by a bat in a cave. As a result of the bite, he begins to undergo a gradual transformation. During the night he transforms into a batman who goes in search of blood. Sergeant Ward picks up the trail of the mysterious deaths and soon gets on John's trail.
