Reginald Enos Kirkland Philips junior (born June 22, 1951 in Kingston Parish , † December 29, 1986 in Port of Spain ) was a Jamaican diplomat .

Life

Philips junior was the son of Miriam Marjorie Rodgers and REK Philips (Sr.). From 1964 to 1968, REK Philips (Sr.) was Chief Welfare Officer of the High Commission of Jamaica in London. Hugh Greene hosted two British Broadcasting Corporation Education Concepts Conferences for people from the West Indies in the Commonwealth of Nations . In addition, REK Philips (Sr.) noted that it is not so much about radio or television education for West Indians, but perhaps about educating the British public about acceptance, admitting that alleged differences may be based on stereotypes .

Philips Jr. married Juno Jacquelineson Matthew, attended Jamaica College, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Durham and a degree in business management . From 1974 to 1975 he was a senior teacher at Kingston Secondary School. From 1975 to 1976 he directed public relations for the Jamaican Department of State and was an administrative officer at the Jamaica Bauxite Institute , Kingston. From December 21, 1978 to December 29, 1986 he was Jamaican High Commissioner (Commonwealth) to the Associated States ( West Indian Federation ) in Bridgetown Barbados , Georgetown (Guyana) , St. George’s ( Grenada ) and was Ambassador to Caracas , Brasília , Bogotá , Lima and Paramaribo ( Suriname ), based in Port of Spain ( Trinidad and Tobago ).
