The Wester peasantry was up in the first half of the 19th century one of three farming communities of the parish and the rural community Hülscheid within the mayoralty Halver of the circle Altena . The area of ​​the peasantry today belongs mainly to the community of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis .

In 1818 the peasantry had 353 inhabitants. In 1838 the peasantry owned ten mills and factories, 58 houses and 71 farm buildings. The 364 inhabitants at that time belonged to the Protestant faith with one exception.

In addition to the village of Harrenscheid , the farms included the Holthausen , Muhler Hagen , Muhl , Linscheid , Stallhaus and Dahlhausen farms , as well as the Kotten Kuhlenhagen , Twieströmen , Becke , Oelken and Dahlerbrück , the powder mill Muhler Ohl , the iron mill Trimpopshammer and the hammer mill hut .
