The construction Fritz GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of prefabricated houses in Upper Swabia Erkheim . In 2010 a turnover of 52 million euros was achieved with around 240 employees .
history
The Baufritz company was founded in 1896 by Sylvester Fritz as a carpentry shop . Residential houses, agricultural buildings, half-timbered houses, roof trusses and church towers were built. In 1927 Johann Fritz took over his father's company and began the series production of prefabricated wood parts. In 1963 Hubert Fritz joined the company. At the end of the 1970s, under his leadership, the focus was on ecological construction (so-called “full value houses”).
Companies
In 1996, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the company built the largest wooden head in Germany right next to the A 96. The design comes from the artist Diether Kunerth . The four-story building is now used as an office building. ( 48 ° 1 ′ 42.4 ″ N , 10 ° 20 ′ 0 ″ E )
In 1999 Dagmar Fritz-Kramer, the daughter of Hubert Fritz, joined the company. Since June 2004 she has been running the family business in the fourth generation.
Bau-Fritz produces around 180 to 200 houses a year. The wooden houses are offered in Germany , Austria , Switzerland , the Benelux countries , Great Britain and Italy .
The company offers its own day care center . Childcare is free of charge for the employees' children.
Construction
The Baufritz company is the one among the prefabricated house manufacturers that practices ecological construction most consistently. The houses are built using a wooden panel construction. In addition to the wooden structure, the insulation with pressed wood shavings that fall off during planing, and usually wood pellet heating plus solar support or a heat pump, improve the ecological balance . Some houses were built with a mini cogeneration unit in the basement.
The individual houses are worked out in the planning center called "HausSchneiderei" by the client together with a team of house designers, energy consultants and building biologists.
All essential parts of the house such as wall, ceiling and roof elements are prefabricated in Erkheim. The final assembly of the facade takes place within two days on the construction site. The houses are ready after ten to twenty weeks of construction.
Wood for the external facade comes from Finland. All materials used in the construction are tested in the company's own laboratory. It depends on the building owner whether - with corresponding additional costs - the ecologically best solutions are selected in every detail, from non-toxic adhesives and foams to nickel-free faucets. However, the client cannot freely choose all the elements, for example plastic windows are taboo. Individual elements such as a water recycling system or an extension to a house for allergy sufferers with a pollen sluice can be planned. The price of a house without a basement and interior fittings is around 150,000 euros, turnkey buildings cost around 230,000 to 400,000 euros. This means that the construction costs are higher than those of conventional prefabricated houses.
Baufritz holds over 40 registered domestic and foreign patents in the field of ecological construction.
Certifications
In 1979 Baufritz was the first log house manufacturer to receive from the Bavarian State Association of the Gütegemeinschaft Montagebau und Fertighäuser e. V. the quality mark. Since 1996, the company is the first in its industry EMAS - certified . Baufritz has been DIN EN ISO 9001 certified since 1998 . In 2002, the then acting consumer minister, Renate Künast, awarded HOIZ, the then new European organic seal for tested building materials, " natureplus " for the biological Baufritz wood shavings insulation .
Awards
In 1995 Hubert Fritz was named Eco Manager of the Year .
In 2007, Dagmar Fritz-Kramer received the entrepreneurship award of the Bavarian SPD . In 2008 she was named Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year as well as the Manager Young Talent Award Career of the Year in the category Career of the Year in SMEs.
In 2008, the then Federal Minister for Family Affairs, von der Leyen, recognized the Baufritz company as Germany's most family-friendly medium-sized company.
At the end of 2009, Baufritz received the German Sustainability Award as Germany's most sustainable company.
