Bayard is a city in Grant County in the US state of New Mexico in the United States with 2534 inhabitants ( 2000) .

The city is located on US Highway 180 in the middle east of Grant County, in southwest New Mexico, is about 40 km to the west from Arizona and has a total area of ​​2.3 km² without any significant water surface.
