The Grant County is a county in the state of New Mexico to the United States . The county seat is Silver City . 29,514 residents lived here in 2010. It is named after the President Ulysses S. Grant .

The county had a population of 31,002 as of the 2000 census . There were 12,146 households and 8,514 families. The population density was 3 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 75.67% White, 0.52% African American, 1.35% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, and 19.02% other races Groups; 3.11% were from two or more races.
