The Doña Ana County is a county in the state of New Mexico to the United States and has approximately 209,233 inhabitants. The county seat is Las Cruces , the second largest city in the state.

Doña Ana County covers an area of ​​9,888 square kilometers; 19 square kilometers (0.2 percent) of this is water. The county borders the following counties: Luna County , Sierra County , Otero County , El Paso County (Texas) and the Mexican state of Chihuahua .

There is a national monument in the county , the White Sands National Monument . Two locations have National Historic Landmark status , Mesilla Plaza and White Sands V-2 Launching Site . The county had a population of 174,682 as of the 2000 census . There were 59,556 households and 42,939 families. The population density was 18 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 67.82% White, 1.56% African American, 1.48% Native American, 0.76% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, and 24.74% other races Groups; 3.58% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 63.35% of the population.

Of the 59,556 households, 38.40% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 52.40% were married couples living together, 14.70% were single mothers. 27.90% were not families. 21.30% are single households and 6.90% have someone living there who is 65 years of age or over.
