Bavarian State Association for Contemporary Dance
The Bavarian State Association for Contemporary Dance (BLZT), based in Munich , was founded in 1997 as a professional institution to bundle the individual interests of dance professionals in Bavaria and to represent the cultural policy in Bavaria . The main aim was to bridge the different interests of private dance school operators, independent organizers and state institutions and to position and promote the common interest in dance in public. The association's work is financed from membership fees and, in particular, from funding from the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art . The central themes of the work of the BLZT are the promotion of independent dance productions, the promotion of projects for the professional training and further education of dancers , choreographers and dance teachers, the promotion of projects that stimulate the exchange between the regions and cities of Bavaria and the promotion of young people.
In addition, the board of directors assigns project orders to independent organizers such as B. the development and implementation of a qualification system for dance teachers , the organization and implementation of the festival event Tanztag Bayern as well as represented by board member Stefan Sixt and in cooperation with the social network for artists and cultural workers the development and implementation of the "artist pension ". As part of the Standing Conference on Dance , the BLZT represents the interests of Bavarian dance professionals.
