The Bavarian Localbahnverein e. V. (BLV), also Bayerischer Localbahn Verein based in Tegernsee, is an association that deals with the history of the railway in Bavaria . The goals of the association are the operation of historic trains and the collection of historically valuable railway material from Bavaria. The association operates the Localbahnmuseum in Bayerisch Eisenstein and a depot in Landshut .

history

DAY 7
Steam locomotive 378.32 in the Schaftlach station

The Localbahnverein emerged from a working group of the German Society for Railway History (DGEG), which carried out steam train journeys on the private Tegernsee Railway between 1969 and 1975 .

Because the operating license for the TAG 7 locomotive expired and neither DGEG nor Tegernsee-Bahn wanted to pay the costs for the general inspection, the Bavarian Local Railway Association was founded. The steam locomotive 378 .32 was purchased in Austria to bridge the period without DAY 7 . In 1978 TAG 7 could also be put back into operation. It has been in the Landshut railway depot since a boiler damage in 2008, and the association collects for the construction of a new boiler. The 378.32 took over the historic steam trains on the Regentalbahn until it was sold to the nostalgic railways in Carinthia in 1996 . The JA Maffei machine was also in operation on the Tegernseebahn in the 1990s and is now in the club's own museum.

The Bavarian Local Railway Museum was built between 1981 and 1994 in the locomotive shed in Bayerisch Eisenstein, which was built in 1877. In 1999 the locomotive sheds and tracks in Tegernsee had to be cleared because the operation of the Tegernseebahn was taken over by the Bavarian Oberlandbahn. The steam train with DAY 7 moved to Landshut. Since 2005, the association has again owned another operational steam locomotive, the one ( 70 083 ), which had previously been a memorial in Mühldorf. From 2000 to 2002 the E69 05 (169 005) previously exhibited in the Localbahnmuseum was refurbished in Landshut and has been operational again ever since.
