The ASCO Arena is a football stadium in the Bayıl district of the Azerbaijani capital Baku . It was opened in 2012 and is owned by the Azerbaijani Football Association AFFA .

history

Construction work began on March 31, 2010. The stadium was completed and opened in time for the 2012 U-17 Women's World Cup, which begins in September . The first game was played by the U-17 women of Azerbaijan and Zambia on September 3, 2012. During the World Cup, four group matches were played here. The playing field consists of an artificial turf . The football arena has a total capacity of 3200 spectators. 450 of these are VIP seats and nine are handicapped accessible. Four turnstiles are installed at the entrance. The arena also has three VIP boxes and a VIP lounge for 60 people. 40 VIP parking spaces are available on the premises. The stadium offers four changing rooms of different sizes (A and B 50.31 , C 40.50 m² and D 26.72 m²), each with 25 lockers , two toilets, seven showers and a massage table. It also has two changing rooms with six lockers each, a toilet, a shower, a doping test room, a medical room and a room for FIFA and UEFA . The floodlights provide 1500 lux illuminance . The LED video display board has the dimensions 3.65 × 2.47 m. Two generators are available for emergency supply , which can supply the entire stadium with power in ten seconds. The press stand offers 60 seats. 38 of them are equipped with tables, electricity and internet connection. There are also 60 seats available in the press conference room. The media center is designed for 48 people and is equipped with the necessary technical equipment. The training center at the stadium was put into operation on December 20, 2017. The building has 16 rooms that can accommodate 36 players and coaches. The rooms are equipped with bathroom. There is also a laundry and a café .

In April 2019, the venue received the sponsored name ASCO Arena, after the Azərbaycan Xəzər Dəniz Gəmiçiliyi ( German  Azerbaijan-Caspian Shipping Company ).
