Beach Haven is a small, six square kilometer, location in Ocean County , New Jersey , United States . At the time of the census in 2010, the place had 1170 inhabitants.

Beach Haven is located on the southern tip of Long Beach Island and used to be one of the most popular beach resorts on the New Jersey coast. Hotels like the Engleside Hotel attracted wealthy guests; the good train connections to New York and Pennsylvania also allowed the less well-off to spend a day on the beach here. Beach Haven is where the first of five shark attacks on the New Jersey coast (1916) occurred on July 1, 1916 . The place suffered a severe economic collapse as a result, as people avoided the beaches on this stretch of coast.
